Full moon is Tuesday, August 24 at 11:05 AM Mountain Daylight Time. Think "expansion and opportunity". It is easy to get lost in the battle between convention and innovation. Guess what? Innovation will win this time around. It may take awhile but if you want to be on the winning side, move away from convention and towards innovation. So take stock of what is new and different in your life. Celebrate the innovation, expansion and tremendous opportunity of these times. Do something you have seriously never ever done before in your life and see how it feels. Give yourself a present, not from obligation but from a place of true generosity and because you value who you are.

The second and very important aspect of this full moon time is to hold the line of any boundary you have recently put down around a major decision, change or intention. Recents insights and inspirations behind the choices were a long time brewing so honor them with a commitment to see them through.

Our most prominent heavenly bodies, the Sun and the Moon are illuminating the themes of adaptation and surrender. Entering the sign of Virgo on Sunday, Aug 22, the Sun will catalyze our growing beyond the confines of the routines of our daily lives - routines of the day, of our emotional responses, of our engrained thinking, speaking, moving.  We are adapting to new circumstances in our lives.  The economy, culture, and work place and our relationships reflect the need for rapid adaptation, and though wrenching like growing pains, we're doing it!  Virgo is the sign that governs the development of new skills.  Have you tried to master a new form of digital technology lately?  Of course you have!  You can't communicate with your posse or do your banking or even share a photo of your dog without mastering new skills.  It's not a time to be left behind.

If there is a crisis in your life, look for the opportunity and make some decisions. Stay away from places, people and situations that are not energetically clean if possible. Spend some time with yourself and with spirit. If fatigued, join the club and take a nap. Ask for help, ask for clarity, and ask for power, strength and courage. Be with yourself, nature and the elements. Appreciate all the opportunities you have at every turn on the road of life. Be grateful, grateful, grateful and look to the beauty on the planet to keep you inspired and looking to the future.

New Moon in Cancer 19º Total Solar Eclipse

Sun and Moon align perfectly with the Earth in the sign of Cancer for this total solar eclipse providing the planet with an opportunity to leap forward with tremendous catalyzing energy.  This whole period between the partial lunar eclipse of June 26 and now has held potential for reaching higher, going deeper and opening wider in all our intentions.  We are in such a rarified period this summer astrologically.  Can you feel it?  First, the Summer Solstice Grand Cross alignment, now the eclipse window, then the intensification of the collective pattern of the Saturn-Uranus-Pluto T-Square by the personal planets including fiery, action-oriented Mars changing signs and aligning with Saturn and expansive, take-it-over-the-top Jupiter aligning with let's-make-a-big-change-now Uranus in the last days of July and early August.  Our bodies and energy levels are struggling to keep up.  There are whole days where your usual, relied upon capabilities of body, mind, and spirit are just somewhere else taking on the task of creating new networks that can hold more, create in more efficient, instantaneous ways, and open to information from a more planetary, global source.

This is an incredible time just on the heels of the summer solstice, a time when things can really come together or they can really come apart. Both could be manifest in yourself and the world at large. Look for big shakeups, big events, big news, big change. Stay out of judgment and honor the cycle of creativity and destruction without worrying too much about which one happens to be showing up first. Decide what your life will be from here on in. This is definitely a day to spend some time reviewing, acknowledging and accepting what is happening in your life. It is also a day to be spending with people you really want to be with.

Partial Lunar Eclipse

It's as if we have been holding our breaths waiting for the planets to reach this powerful alignment of sacred geometry called by many names, Cardinal Cross, Grand Cross, Grand Square.  Regardless of what you call it, it represents an almost unprecedented alignment of planets at 90º, right angles, filling all four corners of a large, square pattern imposed on the zodiac circle.  The planets align in the early degrees of the cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn known for their love to initiate change and not always in a predictable manner.  It can easily be classified as one of the most powerful astrological configurations of 2010.  If anywhere in your personal chart you have planets at these early degrees of cardinal signs, you will be feeling yourself touched by the hand of evolutionary change.  Major forces of change are at work here.

Fleet-footed Mercury rules this New Moon period with every aspect of exchange highlighted.  Mercury is The Messenger and air is its element.  We want to connect to others, communicate our thoughts, get the latest information, zip around from place to place, get ten things going at once.  We want variety, stimulation, diversity, choices.  The mind is accentuated and is actively seeking, curious, analyzing, synthesizing, re-orienting, distributing.  Intellectually centered without a doubt.  A Gemini influence tends to be optimistic and hopeful.  Because the sign of the Twins welcomes change as a blessing and trusts the process of evolution and growth, it brings an attitude of flexibility and acceptance in the face of personal challenges.  The negative pole of this mutable air sign, usually so objective in attitude, might find you nervous, over-amped, ahead of yourself, inflexible, argumentative and defensive.  With too many things going on you might find the energy starts to disintegrate as you lose your focus and forget where you're headed.

New Moon is Wednesday, April 14 at 6:29AM MDT (Mountain Daylight Time) Re-focus on your creativity and imagination and what you are birthing or desiring to manifest for yourself. The new moon is always a good time to plant seeds, to honor what has died and to appreciate the rich compost created by your personal past history. New moon will often bring a still point, like an engine winding down or a computer shutting off. When you re-boot, re-start and re-focus, it is important that you listen only to yourself and to spirit. Regardless of any drama taking place "Out There", you can find a still point, a place of security and peace inside of you.  Honor that you know who you are, and you know what you want. Do not take others reactions to your ideas or desires personally. Spirit has no judgment, so talk to spirit when you need to share.   During this new moon time and preferably as close to the new moon time as possible spend some quiet alone time just with yourself and spirit.

Think of it as a re-set time.

New Moon in Aries 24º

Take your cue from nature; she is ecstatic in display that comes from bursting forth in color, new growth and renewal!  Aries, first sign of the zodiac, masculine and initiating with its fiery ruler Mars, radiates enthusiasm, initiative, vitality and courage for beginning anew.  And like the Spring Equinox, Aries New Moon calls us to release the energy gathered into our core in the dark of winter and spend it where we feel most alive, unrestrained and full of Self.

You might be glad to know this New Moon has none of the heavy intensity of Pluto aspects to Sun/Moon prominent in the Full Moon two weeks ago.  So many felt pushed to their limits under that weekend influence.  This New Moon chart is notable for a lack of almost any primary aspects. Much is going on but is more subtle, preparatory and behind the scenes.
