April Forecast: 2008 PDF Print E-mail
The main themes for April are Resources and Creativity. This is the month to become resourceful in new and creative ways. The month will also provide you with the opportunity to step up to the plate and become fully responsible for your life and what you create in it.This is the time when it is crucial to stop expecting others to do it for you. This does not mean you can’t seek guidance. However, the relationship with your guidance should not be one of complete dependency. People become resourceful when the regular avenues of life they have become accustomed to are no longer available. During the first couple of months of this year the instinctive center, in its process, was resulting in a “deer in headlights” reaction. There was a shock to the system of known patterns, a necessary one to initiate change. However, the time has passed for being stunned, stubborn and confused and expecting someone else to fix it. We need to get to work.

Resourcefulness is a wonderfully empowering trait. When a child figures out how to tie their shoes for the first time, they take pride in that initiation. The thing about children is that they do not give up in learning new tasks and exercising new talents. In a way, we all have to become children again so that what we try newly and for the first time, we try with enthusiasm and without the fear of failure. There will be many opportunities to try new things again and again, refining and creating along the way. If something does not work, try it again in a different way, or try something else.

To be resourceful you must be able to think outside the box, creatively and unconventionally. This is a powerful time of leadership for new inventions in all areas of life. However it is important to be proactive with this process and not to sit around and wait for others to do all the inventing. Everyone has areas of their life that can be reinvented in a creative and unconventional way. This requires getting to know your resources. This month’s focus will be heavy on the resources. Personally, the more you know about your own resources, the more you acknowledge, understand and have gratitude for them, the more empowered you will feel. Resources are not just the knowledge you have related to your career, or the marketability of your talents, or the money you have in the bank, or the things you have acquired. Your resources include your latent ability to be resourceful, your creativity, adaptability, flexibility, community, humor, ability to forgive, survive, evolve, change, persist, let go, and to learn something new. Those inner creative talents as well as your connection with your community will be your most important resources.

This is a very active month. For some of you it is a welcome relief from the less active nature of the previous months. For some of you it will bring up anxiety and may move you into stubbornness as you try to hold on to a more comfortable pace. It will be important to face each day with a determination and intention to be creative in some way. What is not working will be so obvious. And rather than sitting in shock about it like the deer in headlights, it is best to move directly into what you can do that is creative and resourceful.

Whenever there is a theme of creativity, there will also be destruction because you cannot have one without the other. This year self-destruction is one of the negative expressions of the destructive side of creativity. Being willing to destroy old patterns of negativity or to allow the dissolution of old forms that no longer serve would be the more positive expression of the destructive side. If something in your life is dissolving and you know deep down that it is a good thing, the most powerful action would be to help the process along instead of resisting it. When you participate in the process, you will find freedom to be creative and resourceful just on the other side. Beware of the ego’s tendency for martyrdom, stubbornness and self-destruction. You may witness a lot of these behaviors in others that are having trouble with their attachments, addictions and dependencies.

The biggest challenge will be to reframe the definition of resources. As a culture in the last throws of the competitive, success-oriented mentality, resources are still defined as something outside of ourselves. Power and survival are seen to depend on how many of those resources can be hoarded away and kept as a commodity to lord over others at some point. When those resources, as well as what they have come to represent, are no longer available, you have two options: one is to fight, resist, get stubborn, blame others, and finally go down in a sea of self-destruction. The other is to accept, let go, explore your inner resources as well as external ones you never knew you had, become resourceful and creative, and move on. The first option is not pretty and will cause much suffering and you will see many who choose that route. The second one will lead to a self-directed and more powerful expression of life, love, innovation, abundance and creativity.

In addition to personal resources, community and global resources will also be scrutinized and redefined. We are likely to see a lot of discussion, focus and attention on resources of all kinds from oil to money to clean air, water, minerals, energy, community resources etc. Unfortunately most of the attention will be focused on the lack of those resources, the abuse or mishandling of resources, and there may be a tendency to throw blame. Blame never accomplished anything except to hold evolution back. Be careful not to go into blame yourself around aspects of your life where you feel at the effect of someone else’s choices and decisions. The community aspect this month is a big one. People will yearn for community and realize that community provides acceleration of creativity, resourcefulness and innovation. We are rapidly moving into a time when no one can or wants to go about it alone anymore. The sooner that realization moves to break down the barriers of isolation and competition, the faster things will change. However, the most important thing for you to remember this month is to access and acknowledge your own resources and to work on your own creativity and resourcefulness. If you do your work on the home front, it will have a ripple effect on all your relations.

The greater yearly theme of “back to basics” will also be influencing the month. You may find yourself and people around you wanting to simplify, to eliminate waste, to spend more time with what is important, to work less, to have less and to go for quality instead of quantity. This of course will affect the economy as it is currently designed. This scaling down should not be confused with contraction. Contraction is a state of mind. You can feel contracted even with a million dollars in the bank and a mansion to live in. In some ways eliminating excess and scaling down can be incredibly freeing and expansive. The less you have, the less you have to take care of and be responsible for. We will be seeing trends towards smaller, simpler, greener, more efficient extensions of ourselves, be it our home, transportation, machinery, electronics or other aspects. When you take stock of your inventory of resources this month, be sure to evaluate how you can eliminate waste and excess as part of your creative process. Practice being resourceful not only in what you create but in what you destroy.

PERSONAL GROWTH AND WELL-BEING

This category depends on your willingness and ability to stay active and proactive. Don’t sit and wait and stew and complain and expect someone to come along and save you. There is a great opportunity this month to experience the power of responsibility and the empowerment that comes from that first time you tie your shoe without help. This does not mean you cannot ask for help and support, especially from your community. However when you receive help, take what is given and work with it proactively so that it becomes a means to an end instead of the end itself. Those who have done their work in March with the theme of surrender and giving over to spirit what cannot be managed by the mind, will have an easier and more fun time of it this month. Those of you who have been patiently sitting in the instinctive void will finally get a chance to move forward and ahead. Pay attention to what comes easily and what does not. And remember that the resistance may not always be yours.

RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships will go through lessons around dependency and responsibility. Agreements may be re-evaluated and modified. As you change how you relate to others in regards to dependency and responsibility, new relationships will come in on a different frequency. The biggest challenge will be to trust the effortlessness of the ones that are right for you at this time. There is an inherent mistrust of anything that comes too easily. This is an old imprint in the instinctive center from lifetimes of suffering and karma. This month, take some time and redefine how you want to be in relationship. Acknowledge your relationships and your community as part of your foundation of resources. Creative collaboration is possible and even necessary in order to move forward with resourcefulness.

PHYSICAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Exercise and moving the body will help to keep the circulation of energy going. Especially as we move into spring weather, being out doors will support the creativity and inspiration needed to be resourceful. Your experience outdoors will also show you how little you really need in order to be fulfilled and happy. There is a movement towards going back to basics in simplifying food and nourishment as less becomes available economically. This is actually a good thing. It is important to look at what you can use that is in your own back yard, local markets and providers of support for physical, mental and spiritual well-being.  As the higher frequencies become more and more available, spiritual hygiene will be crucial in keeping you moving forward. Physical challenges may include problems in the lower back, hips and neck. You may experience headaches and sensations in the head. This would be a result of certain energy centers opening up as the present currents of energy increase the potential for experiencing a higher frequency.

BUSINESS, PARTNERSHIPS AND THE ECONOMY

We have addressed some of this already in the main body of the forecast. We will just reiterate again the importance of staying out of mainstream belief systems of doom, lack and loss. Resourcefulness will be one key, connecting with your community for support and creativity, the other key. It is actually a really good month for starting new creative projects especially with others. Watch for what is effortless and simple. Start small and allow the natural cycles to determine and support the pace of growth. Timing is everything. Some things will happen faster than you would have been able to anticipate and some things will happen slower. Align yourself with the rhythms and the pace without resistance or effort. Be willing to dissolve old partnerships that cannot meet your new level of functioning at a higher frequency. You can only carry others so far. It is time for everyone to step into responsibility for themselves and full participation in what they create.  The economy will continue to be squirrelly. Some things will make sense, others not. Be compassionate with those who are struggling but don’t go there with them. Everyone has their own set of lessons around their resources and their creativity. Your personal happiness and well-being should not depend on another. If it does you are compromising yourself.

CLIMATE, WEATHER AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Any issues related to the environment that address resources, being resourceful and creative with resources, finding new resources etc. will be in focus. Watch for weather patterns to be creative. Notice the resourcefulness and creativity in the aftermath of some climatic events where community finds creative ways to work with the environment. It is a very creative time that could also mean innovations in working with the environment, resources and environmental issues. Discussions, debates and new ideas will focus around resources and the environment. If the climate is intense, appreciate its creativity instead of resisting it.

POLITICS AND GLOBAL ISSUES

We will see tremendous creativity as well as tremendous destruction around the world depending on the maturity of the country and where the population is focused. One thing is certain; there will be tremendous movement where there has been a stalemate or stagnation. Creative solutions and creative problem solving can help move us into the future. The most effective solutions will come from those who are willing to think outside the box and to problem solve from the heart instead of the head.

IMPORTANT DATES

April 1-3: Because of the radical change in energy from being more receptive and surrendering to needing to move forward in action, this time can be a bit unsettled, agitated and physically chaotic. Don’t be hard on yourself if you are feeling the urgency of needing to accomplish certain things but incapable of doing so. This is an adjustment period. It is a good time for making lists and organizing your month mentally in terms of what you want to accomplish. Make sure to leave lots of room for creativity.

April 4-12: A highly charged and creative time with a touch of chaos. If the chaos is overwhelming, focus on one thing at a time. If your body feels agitated, you need to exercise. During this time many things can all of a sudden appear in your life without effort. It can be extremely abundant but you will have to take charge of the priorities so that they remain yours. This is a time when those who are not pulling their own weight will be spun out and may try and blame you and others for their situation. Remember that everyone needs to take responsibility. If you are on the side of being spun out, don’t take it personally, and don’t blame anyone else. Simply push your own reset button and keep going. It just means that the situation spinning you out is not compatible to where you need to be at this time.

April 5: New Moon at 8:55 PM Mountain Standard Time (9:55 PM Day light time). Set some intentions from your heart based on current situations of creativity and resourcefulness. Practice visualizing your intentions as future guides that are magnetizing you towards the life you intend to create. Visualize this as an effortless way to move towards your dreams instead of pushing and shoving your will into the future with effort. If things have changed for you in terms of who or what is in your life at this time, honor where you have been and with whom and where, with gratitude and love. No regrets.

April 13-20:
A somewhat more contracted time, giving you a breather and allowing for the fine tuning of whatever creative process you started with a bang at the beginning of the month. This is a time when pieces that were not in place will fall into place in their own timing. This is also a good time to re-evaluate how you are using your resources and where you are being resourceful enough or not. During this time, original configurations of community, work, projects, and creative endeavors may change and adjust. Trust spirit and right timing. Stay out of impatience and the stubbornness of forcing something sooner that its time or holding on to something past its time.

April 20: Full Moon at 3:25 AM Mountain Standard Time (4:25 AM Daylight Time).  Take some time to consider and evaluate your resources, what you have and how you are using them. Make a commitment to simplify something in your life, and to eliminate something unimportant. Create the space to be creative. Connect with community.

April 21-27: Another window of potential chaos and adjustment as action increases. Be vigilant that you do not spin out of control and into self-destructive behavior. Your spiritual practices will be a grounding anchor and very important to keep doing on a daily basis. Some relationship issues may arise during this time. The most important thing is to deal with everything proactively as it shows up rather than being in denial or sweeping it under the rug. Take responsibility where you need to. Avoid unnecessary conflict.

April 28-30: The last couple of days of the month are for acknowledging yourself, your resources, your resourcefulness, your creativity, your willingness to step up to the plate, your community, your power and self-leadership. It is important not to compare yourself to anyone else but yourself. You serve as your own marker in your own growth and evolution. Evaluate where you are without judgment.

Have a great month!
