New Moon Update 10-19-17

Print this page

Dear Friends,

New Moon is Thursday, October 19 at 1:11 PM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).

Use this new moon as a transition time from working on and experiencing your inner stability and balance, to using it as your container of support as you step out and show up more in your life. Take courage and commitment from some of the stronger energies surrounding this New Moon and continue to focus on how best to balance your life with what you have to work with at this time.

Revisit your intentions and refine them based on recent events, experiences, insights and acceptance of changes made by others. Practice being adaptable, observant, neutral, accepting and resilient. This may bring up having to look at your attachments and consciously work on letting them go. This is a time to be in community, get support, and make a stand for yourself. Be responsible for your own life. No-one else out there is.

Blessings,
Lena

Libra New Moon

Sun and Moon in Libra ~ 26º

Thursday, October 19, 1:11 PM Mountain Time

(October 19, 7:11 PM Greenwich Mean Time)

Libra New Moon is so likely to carry us out of our comfort zones and give us some sort of electrical zap that forces us into radical reset! Why say that?  The Sun and the Moon in Libra 26º are exactly opposite Uranus, an influence of upset, pattern breaking, emotional chaos and excitement.

Libra is the archetype of balance; the scales are its symbol.  With Venus as ruler, she brings life into aesthetic balance, harmonizing our relationships, beautifying the environment with her appreciation for the sensual delights, upholding the graces of the social realms.  Magnetism and attraction are her special endowments, and Libra New Moon knows just how to apply them.  Libra is a skilled and tactful negotiator always sorting for the best for all involved.  Actually an iron hand in a velvet glove, although you will never know you’ve been strong armed when you realize how beautiful and gracious are the outcome of the Libran intentions.

As a cardinal, air sign, Libra is a mental sign full of ideas and the mental objectivity to see the bigger picture and the persuasive ability to get those around her to align with her intended outcome.  The Libra/Venus duo lends warmth, love, affection and beauty to all they touch.  We have the added power of Venus being in her own sign, Libra, ruling this chart and helping us regain equilibrium and balance as we move with the paradox, upset and disruption of Uranus.  The intent of radical, revolutionary Uranus, The Awakener, is not to punish but to break up what limits the flow of expanding into our full essential being.  Few would deny that we find ourselves in a profound growth and revolutionary period, and Uranus is here to make it so.

Eris known as the asteroid of discord and strife, but more than that, she is the feminine spiritual warrior who cannot abide inequity and unfairness and is unafraid to wield a sword or rage or focus destruction to reveal truth.  Eris is riding with Uranus in Aries truly a pattern breaker when these two work together as they have done in the last 18 months.  Now the two ride together at this New Moon cycle opposing the Sun and Moon in Libra.  Expect the results of deep personal process to emerge that may have been pushed aside for the polite and socially acceptable.  Expect what has been denied, pushed aside in the feeling realms to burst forth in righteous indignity insisting on being heard and seen.  The result? Profound freedom, breaking of emotional attachments and ego bondage, the blessings of ‘beginner’s mind’.

Jupiter in Scorpio is within 6º of the Sun and Moon, so Jupiter will expand the deep diving of our soul issues.  Intimacy and vulnerability are deepening.  Things are breaking apart.  Some are being initiated into a new reality by the seat of their pants.  Uranus never cares if you are “ready”.

Uranus’ gift comes as deep intuition flashing out of nowhere – from the cosmos.  You will want to follow those brilliant intuitions this New Moon.  Everything and anything is possible at this time.  Uranus invites us to lift our personal selves to the outer reaches of the solar system, beyond what we have imagined thus far, outside the us/them, good/bad polarities.  We are being stretched into unity, cooperation, oneness, trust.  ‘Love is thicker than smoke’, as we say here in Northern California.

Can we balance our giant brains with Heart?  North Node in Leo trine to Uranus/Eris (Aries) and trined to Saturn in Sagittarius says, ‘this is the path of growth’.  This is your mission, earthlings.

Be mindful that Libra rules the kidneys, adrenals, lower back.  Be aware of sugar imbalance. Use harmonizing herbs and remedies.

Underlying stress in the more subtle aspects of the chart may compound to having to put out intention and energy to adapt, modulate, acquiesce, compromise.  Chiron who brings healing experiences out of our scarring and wounding is in a stressful aspect to the Sun and Moon.  What can you release to powers greater than yourself to bring Libra’s scales back into balance? In the sign of Pisces, Chiron has been showing us the way to spiritual awakening and compassion for our human foibles.  Venus the ruler of the Libra chart is out of sync with her relationship commitments (Juno) and not working easily with her primary strategist and creative director, Pallas Athena.  Tension may be felt between our need to create and our need for receptive intimacy – a balancing act.  Venus is favorably aligned with Ceres, our archetype for Mother Nature and the beautiful Earth and her abundant resources.  Ground into the Earth when all else is leaning into chaos; here lies your stability, anchor and support.

A chart like this Libra New Moon stretches us beyond our familiar, comfort level especially in relationships, decision making, contractual arrangements and the sensations and emotions of the body.  What we see in our relationships is a reflection of ourselves.

Celebrations for the cross quarter day marking the midpoint between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere are coming up ~ Halloween, Day of the Dead, it takes many forms.  The veil thins and we honor death, loss and those on the other side with food, candlelight, blessings and prayers.  Blessings on Us All.
