By this time you probably have had your fill of reading about the corona virus, to wash your hands and keep them away from your face, where it is striking in the world and how many people have contracted it.  Since many people have requested it, here I will try to answer some of the most important questions about the big picture and the little strange quirks happening around it, and I will even include some remedies.

Worldwide emergencies happen when the entire species needs some lessons or a restructuring of their realities. During the last hundred years or so World War I and II were worldwide events as well as the 1918 pandemic of Spanish Flu. Here is another pandemic with repercussions much greater than SARS, the Asian flu, the HIV epidemic, Ebola and other similar ones that affected certain populations or were more limited in scope. This one is meant to cut through the vast polarization that has gripped the world in recent years. It enforces cooperation, working together for the benefit of everyone. It touches all lives, economically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. Not only does it do all that but it emphasizes mindfulness, paying attention, being in the moment, and not spaced out. In an interesting way it emphasizes certain more socially conscious solutions to keep the average person from falling into catastrophic job loss and financial ruin. Suddenly there have to be programs considered that bail people out of the inability to pay student loans, mortgages, medical expenses, and cope with potential job loss, childcare while needing to work and a host of other very real challenges. Hard core capitalists are forced to consider programs that they formally would have considered to be unthinkable socialist solutions to societal challenges. That’s interesting.

In addition, the coronavirus, being deadly enough to kill a certain percentage of people that contract it, is scary enough to disrupt all ways of life in a dramatic way demanding adaptability and spontaneous creative solutions to deal with everyday life. With that said the virus is not deadly enough to take out huge chunks of the population. It is just scary enough to get everyone’s attention. It is not designed as the thing that will reduce the world’s populations in a significant way. This is more like a shot across the bow, a warning, a heads up to get our act together. It is truly a worldwide shake up that says, “Hey your way of life is unsustainable. You have your priorities scrambled. Mother Nature at any time can step in and disrupt the best laid human plans and show them to be feeble, ignorant attempts to control your world.“

While some with a more paranoid bent might think this virus is man made in a laboratory to disrupt the world order this is not the case. Mother nature’s vast creativity is always at work creating new forms and expressions that indeed do disrupt the status quo. Yes, in the world of forms there is only impermanence and change, change, change. We resist it and it rolls over us like a tsunami or we learn to live in a way that embraces change and adapt to it because it is inevitable. These pandemics actually influence us at deep biological levels, genetically, molecularly, and so on. They change us and move us in new directions as a species. Mother Nature does not make mistakes. Mutations are part of Nature’s tool box. The only way we can really understand the power of these pandemics to change us is by taking the long-range big picture view and see what it did in hindsight. We as a species are being poked and prodded here and there to adapt ever so slightly in ways that will cause huge changes down the road not unlike the way a few rocks rolling at the top of the mountain turn into a roaring avalanche down below.

Mass emergencies have a way of showing us the best and worst of ourselves. On the one hand we have the spectacle of squirrel mentality when people rush the stores to hoard toilet paper and other supplies and on the other side health workers risking their lives to aid and support those who have become ill. Catastrophes always provide the opportunity for heroic deeds and acts of great kindness and compassion. These stark contrasts clearly outline our choice between selfishness and generosity.

And speaking of toilet paper many people are marveling about this phenomenon. What does toilet paper really have to do with the corona virus? Well, maybe people are imagining being tied up at home for several weeks of quarantine but then that does not require a truckload of toilet paper. When people become frightened their instinctive centers open up. The instinctive center has its base of operations at the base of the spine, very close to the anus. So, when they get activated there, they associate being able to clean themselves with relieving their anxiety. When people have to relieve themselves you see them rushing around trying to find a restroom in a state of anxiety. When they find one and relieve themselves they come stalking out with a smile like a superhero who has just saved the world. So, in a strange sort of way people associate wiping themselves with gaining victory over the coronavirus. Have toilet paper, will travel. If I just have enough TP I can beat this thing.

The coronavirus affects the lungs and bronchial area in an acute way. It makes us have trouble breathing and in the worst case scenario gives us pneumonia that can kill us. People who live in areas with much air pollution are at greater risk than people living with clean air. People with asthma, compromised lungs, emphysema, and related diseases are all at the greatest risk of dying from coronavirus. This has also been a time of great fires around the planet with many suffering from toxic smoke inhalation and millions of trees and plants going up in smoke that are vital to cleaning the air. Let’s just say that air is up for us right now. This planet has an atmosphere and it has its finite limits. Some planets lose their atmospheres and when they do they can no longer sustain life. Ours still sustains us but not forever if we do not take care of it. Perhaps this is a reminder how important it is to breathe.

We still do not know the exact origination of the coronavirus but we do know that the first epicenter was Wuhan, China, also the epicenter of advanced technology and the first place to widely distribute the 5G network. Some preliminary health tests have shown a correlation between the 5G bandwidth and the interference of the intake of oxygen in humans making them turn bluish. That is interesting. Are there lessons to be learned here? This is not something you can mess with and then expect that there is no price to pay.

So many lessons. So many challenges. Yes, perhaps it is unnerving. But it is also exciting that something has come along to grab our attention in such a big way as to disrupt life on this planet like a cold slap in the face. “Wake up” it seems to say, or die. Is this the all is lost moment of Hollywood movies when the heroine or hero is facing certain death or the love of her/his life has just walked out possibly to never return? Maybe, maybe not. Yet it sure has our attention.

As I mentioned earlier the coronavirus is a product of nature and as we know shamanically, everything has its spirit. The virus is a being with a purpose just as we each have a purpose. Is it the enemy? Perhaps not. Perhaps in some ways it is working in cooperation with us. Maybe it is not a scary demon or monster but has a mission to carry out and if we communicate with it we can learn something about that mission, that purpose, that cooperative effort. It would seem that if many of us were to just talk to the coronavirus that it may have some wisdom for us, offer some clarity to us about its ultimate nature. Perhaps it is more a benevolent being than we thought. Everyone is so invested in stamping it out and getting rid of it but few perhaps have taken an interest in it as having something to offer. Maybe there will come a day that we can look at all past plagues and understand them as well and see that they had a place, a job to do, and if we understood that mission better it would not have to go so badly for us through our resistance and attempts to fight them off. Shamanically speaking it is often our greatest allies that are the most dangerous. Tobacco is a good example. It is the strongest and most powerful plant in the world. It has killed an enormous number of people. But that is because we used it in the wrong way. In fact, it is a powerful ally and when approached correctly it can protect us and help us overcome many challenges, even heal us from other dangers like viruses.

Here are a couple of remedies that you can used to handle the coronavirus should you have a bout with it. Yes, there are things you can do to be proactive with it.

REMEDIES:

The virus is worse with dryness, dry throat and lungs for example. So, when you first contract it make sure to spray your throat with water often to keep it moist and use an air humidifier. Spraying with colloidal silver is an excellent approach.

The virus hates sunlight so expose yourself to the sun and it will kill the virus on your skin or on your clothing in a couple of minutes. It tends to be more prevalent in cloudy climates like Seattle for example. Your skin naturally wipes out the virus in six or seven minutes. On other surfaces it can last several days so you may have to wipe them. So in the absence of Purell or water to wash your hands the sun can do a great job.

If you get it then you can make up a home remedy that is very powerful. You need to get some loose tobacco without any artificial chemicals. American Spirit is good but even better is jungle tobacco because it is very strong. Put some in a pan and heat it lightly toasting it until it smokes a little. Then mortar it into a fine powder. Get a jar of good old fashioned Vick’s Vapor Rub and make a mash of tobacco powder and  vapor rub. Yes, it will be kind of messy and yucky but it will help you enormously. Rub that blend onto your sore throat and onto your chest and back. It will smell strongly. Place a hot damp towel or compress on it. Then immediately climb in bed and go to sleep.

The principle behind this remedy is that illness is cold and tobacco and the rub is hot and will not only introduce heat but draw out the illness. That is what fever is also trying to do when you have a fever. This remedy can’t hurt you but it can help you in amazing ways.
