About Shamanic Healing

Shamanic healing is a spiritual and medical practice based upon the belief that all healing includes a spiritual dimension. Shamanic medicine is a tradition dating back 25000 years. To better understand how a shamanic healing works it is important to understand some of the fundamental concepts of what shamanism is. It is a specific set of methodologies for accessing the spirit or energy field of anything or anyone. The essential perspective of shamanism is:

  1. Everything is alive. Everything has spirit and awareness.
  2. Energy and matter are the same. Everything is vibration. Everything that exists is an energy system within a greater energy system.
  3. Everything that exists is connected to everything else in a web of energy or life.
  4. Unseen/inner/spiritual reality affects visible reality.

Working within this system of perceptions, the healer strives to create balance and harmony of the spirit. This is a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance and can be focused on the individual or the community. This also can be applied to anything that exists.

By using shamanic practices a wide spectrum of healing is possible. Shamanic healing takes place in many forms, depending on what spirit recommends. This can include plant, herb and mineral spirit medicine, the use of song and other instruments to move and transform energy, visualization, soul retrieval, extraction, hands on massage or physical body manipulation. The shamanic practitioner understands the necessity to use both nature and spirit in healing and that true healing is whole and complete: body, mind and spirit.

The one-year program was stepping into a threshold of spiritual maturity and seniority. Growing up in the US, I had not experienced a rite of passage into adulthood. This program served as this passage and so much more. This year-long transformation reminded me of my unique contribution during these potent times in humanity. The Power Path teachers and community taught me that curiosity, playfulness, discipline, and the willingness to show up in any situation can result in immense spiritual growth. The tools and teachings learned in this program are helping me to stay present and have an open heart to everything that continues to unfold in miraculous ways.

One Year Program 2023/24

I signed up for Pivot with my husband, Thomas, during enormous shifts in our lives—when everything felt like it was in a million pieces: our home, property, work, art, and relationships. Working with Pivot helped me see that everything—our art, my marriage, our business, our land—is part of one sacred container. That clarity has been changing everything.

One of the most transformative shifts was how Pivot helped us clarify our roles within TalkingLeaves, the artisan LLC we’ve been cultivating and shaping together over many years. My husband, Thomas, stepped more fully into the power/action mode, allowing him to move projects forward with ease and precision—fewer energy leaks, cleaner execution.

I, in turn, focused on innovation, oversight, community outreach, and setting the containers for our art house and studio visits. That division of labor wasn’t just practical—it was empowering. We each get to shine in our own lane.

Pivot also helped us set deadlines and goals. Even when timelines shifted, we stayed aligned and achieved every goal we set—with no attachments or expectations of outcomes, allowing the next steps to reveal themselves in front of us so we could see what direction to take. That structure gave us momentum without rigidity.

We were trying to hold too much—often shaped by external expectations. Through this process, we learned to slow down, clarify, and create containers for our work. Now, things feel more intentional, less chaotic. We’ve even started using hand-drawn visual templates inspired by the Pivot community map. They’re posted where we see them daily, helping us track progress, pivot when needed, and keep our vision alive.

As artisans and land stewards, it can be easy to get caught in comparison or pressure. But Pivot helped us return to our own rhythm—not to fix or prove, but to honor what we’re already creating, and have the courage to follow through.

Each coach brought diverse perspectives; however, their insights reflected the same core truth. That helped us see how all parts of life are connected.

Thank you, Pivot team, for this grounded, clarifying, and deeply helpful process.

PIVOT Training and Coaching

The PIVOT program has been truly catalytic in helping me move my business forward in an authentic way — helping purpose-driven organizations scale their impact.  As a result of learning the frameworks and putting them into practice, I’m now much more attuned to my clients and how they engage with the world. I’m also able to see how new ideas can be manifested into my work much more successfully.  And, perhaps most importantly, I now see a path to bring my full self into my work that wasn’t clear to me at all before diving into PIVOT.  I highly recommend it!
