By now you are probably well aware that we are in a massive paradigm shift on this planet and that this transformational shift has been waiting in the wings for us for a long, long time. Various prophecies including the Mayans, the Toltecs, the Hopis, and the Tibetans have pinpointed the current unique set of circumstances as the signal for extraordinary change on the planet. Climate change, extinctions, epic migrations of people, authoritarianism, the crumbling of government and societal structures, dramatic polarization, and the numerous possibilities for complete disaster are all earmarks of the change. These changes are no longer just a possibility or a sometime proposition, they are actually taking place here and now. So, the question of the day is, “What do we do now?” Before we can answer that question, we need to look closely at the structure of the change and understand the process of what we are going through. Otherwise, we are just grasping at straws, failing to grasp how to go about making the changes we need to make.

Typically, when we look at the history of the world, we are able to divide it into periods of millions of years that all had something in common, Precambrian, Triassic, Jurassic, and the Cretaceous ages when certain plants and animals reigned and this way, we understand the fundamental conditions on the earth. More recently, in the last two and half million years we have the prototypes of humans and then recent time periods that show a common theme such as the iron age, bronze age and so on. The human race follows a series of stages that are all within a similar context and retrospectively we can see the gradual or sometimes rapid steps and jumps in development. When change occurs, we see that the world becomes a new place and people have to adapt quickly or they get left behind. Various early hominids went extinct and left the world to more successful types who eventually resulted in Homo Sapiens and even we are continuing to adapt to various ages like the preindustrial, industrial, information ages.  Each one of these ages places enormous demands on us to adapt and completely change our way of life and some people thrive with the changes and others fail to adapt well and die off.

The changes that are now taking place on earth are the biggest ones that humans have ever faced but most people do not know this yet because they are either in denial or they simply are not quite aware of it yet because they are focused on survival or everyday chores. What we have now is a paradigm change; a pervasive, comprehensive set of changes that we have to adapt to physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. If we fail at any of these, we cannot survive. Many people today see this as such a great challenge that they believe we will probably not survive and we will leave the planet for the cockroaches. Frankly, when considering the state of affairs, it is easy to come to this conclusion but it is not to be. We will survive and adapt and be the better for it. How can I say this? First of all, most prophecies agree that we will, but perhaps by the skin of our teeth. In addition, vast numbers of spiritual teachers, psychics, mediums, and highly aware humans also agree that this is not the end for the human race. It is only the end of an era and an end to certain belief systems and philosophies that have run their course and are no longer sustainable.

In the past, very large changes have taken place that we have managed to adapt to because, despite their size, they still took place within the same vibratory range or octave that human beings have been familiar with. When people shifted from the pre-industrial age to the age of electricity, they had to jump hoops but it was still all within the context of a single octave. Now, for the first time in human history we are actually changing octaves and that is huge. Let us for a moment try to grasp what this means. Formerly change was usually from one note to the next note, or half note higher or even a jump of several notes. They were still in the same scale. Now we are jumping a full octave, or we could say we are leaving the old octave behind, an octave that human beings have been singing since we were dreamed up. This older octave only permitted certain beliefs, understandings, and perspectives. Within those perspectives only a limited number of activities were possible.

There have always been exceptions and anomalies of course. There is ample evidence that some people have been able to levitate, walk on fire, live without eating and so on. Even though the evidence is clear most people under the old octave simply would not believe it possible and simply dismissed the evidence out of hand. Why? Because it was not in the octave they were performing within.  A modern-day version of this inability to recognize the evidence is the current controversy over whether a past president was deprived of a second term by treachery. A vast number of normal, even educated human beings simply cannot accept any evidence to the contrary because it does not fit into their paradigm.

To understand the leap from a lower octave to a higher one we need an illustration so you can mentally grasp it. Imagine that for a very longtime human beings existed in an atmosphere where everything was experienced at the pelvic level. You can get the impression of this by simply putting your awareness on your pelvis and imagine that everything you saw, felt, and perceived was being processed at the height or level of your genitals. Now imagine that one day you were to jump to the shoulders level and began to perceive the world through the upper chest. That would be a dramatic change wouldn’t it? If you were perceiving the world through your heart region and everyone else was at the pelvis octave then you would be having vastly different experiences of what seemed like the same world. The people still at the pelvic level would not know what you were talking about and would insist that you were wrong and perhaps bad. You, on the other hand, would feel frustrated that they could not have your experience and failed to see your point of view. There might be some heated arguments or rejections, dismissals and the like. You would probably go looking for people who had made the shift that you could talk to and would feel tremendous validation and relief at finding them. Likewise, the pelvic seers would feel relief that you had gone away and they could continue to hang out with each other.

This is the current state of affairs. The only thing is that the shift from pelvic seeing to chest seeing will be rapid over the next fifty or so years. Eventually there will be only a very few holdouts among the younger souls. They will probably continue to seek each other’s company just as people who don’t believe in any kind of technology or medicines find one another to fraternize with.

There is another piece to this. The old paradigm is ending and like a calendar it comes to the last day of the year which we could imagine might be at the pelvis level. Under normal circumstances one would simply get a new calendar at the pelvis level but it would still be the same calendar system. However, what if the last day was really the last day the calendar would be at the pelvis level and there was no new similar calendar to begin the next day. That last day would hang in space at the pelvic level like a train hanging off the cliff where a bridge once was. There would be a new calendar system starting but it would be higher on the mountain at the shoulder chest level on a different set of tracks across the canyon. You would have to figure out where this new train track started up higher on the mountain, cross the canyon and climb up there to reboard. None of your former memories, training, education, or tools would be helpful on this new train. You would have to learn a whole new set and you might feel very lost for a while.

Meanwhile the people boarding the new train would soon realize that their old memories, beliefs, perceptions, and tools made no sense here on this new train. Even people who had trained for a long time for this very event might be shaken to their foundations and be very confused for a while, because no one can completely prepare for a mystery. The whole narrative they were identified with about who they were would no longer work here. It would be as if the narrative, their history had no references here, would make no sense at all. Their identity as a white man or a black woman would no longer have any relevance whatsoever. Similarly, their identity as a heterosexual woman or a gay man or a trans person would have no significance whatsoever. It would become a big “So what?” as would their age and any number of other identifiers. Just imagine this mentally for a few moments. What if all your identifiers no long fit just as if you were to land on a new planet with sentient creatures that looked nothing like you. That could be very interesting but hard to adapt to.

The good news is that it will be so interesting and so rewarding that we will not mind the changes. In fact, most people are going to breathe a huge sigh of relief and say, “Thank God, it’s about time. I’ve been waiting all my life for this.” We will look back with horror at what we were putting up with. In fact, we will not be able to imagine why anyone would ever want the bad old days of struggling with money, status, and competition for survival. Even the challenges with climate change and more difficult conditions will no longer seem all that troublesome. We will adapt because that is one of the things that humans are built for. It is why we are such a successful species. Ready! Get set! Goooooo!
