Woven Songs of the Amazon, Open House July 7th & 8th
The Power Path School of Shamanism in conjunction with the Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, a non-profit organization, will host a special open house July 7th & 8th featuring special guests from Peru, Herlinda and Enrique.
These shamans from the Shipibo tribe in the Peruvian Amazon have an ancient tradition of singing Icaros or healing songs. This is a fascinating and effective energy medicine used in their ceremonies. The documentary film, “Woven Songs of the Amazon” by Anna Stevens, featuring Herlinda as one of the main keepers of the woven song tradition will also be shown at the SF Film Center on Saturday, July 7 at 7:45 PM. The film showing as well as the weekend event is a wonderful and rare opportunity to meet these unique healers. Special songs and blessings will be given on Saturday at 11, 1 & 3 and on Sunday at 1 & 3. Special woven song textiles as well as other crafts and products will be available for sale as a fundraiser for CSEE. The open house will be held at 806 Gonzales Rd. from 10-4 on Saturday July 7 and from 12-4 on Sunday July 8.
