The Inner Shaman retreat gets its name from Jose’s book “Awaken the Inner Shaman: A Guide to the Power Path of the Heart.” This annual in person retreat takes place at our 1000 acre ranch in northern New Mexico and has covered a wide range of topics about shamanic practice over the years. Each year, the focus is on a unique and specific aspect of shamanic understanding, techniques and practices that includes much more than the original book. Participants describe the retreat as fun, social, interactive, informational, and life transforming. Many come year after year to enjoy the beauty of our 1000 acre ranch land and learn more about the shamanic path.
The retreat includes camping with your own equipment and all family-style meals. We have several vintage trailers for rent at an additional cost on a first come basis. Trailers provide a private space and a comfortable bed and bedding. Trailers do not have any other facilities.
Our camp kitchen provides excellent and tasty meals. Gluten-free/ dairy free/ vegetarian options are available however we cannot accommodate allergies to very commonly used ingredients.
The Inner Shaman Nature Retreat is led mostly by Jose with practices, teachings and philosophy, with a few inputs by Lena and Anna. Teachings are a combination of group time, outdoor activities and classrooms, hikes and time for rest and rejuvenation.
This retreat is not suitable for anyone who cannot walk at least a ½ mile over uneven ground and rocky trails.
The location is 1000 acres of mountain nature in beautiful Northern New Mexico, 2 hours from Santa Fe, 3 hours from Albuquerque and 5 hours from Denver. There is a 30 foot yurt for group gatherings, several outhouses, a shower house with hot showers, outdoor covered and uncovered dining areas, areas for relaxation, and a large open-air kitchen that will provide all of your meals.
